ew Zealand – one of the world’s perfect melting pots for people from every corner of the globe served as a perfect platform for a recent 18th birthday celebration, providing the seamless unison of Indian cultural traditions, family values & modern revelry. This unique coming-of-age celebration wasn’t just an ordinary celebration – it was one that resonated in the joys that bring together familial traditions, the unique bonds of friendship & the meeting milestones, all captured very tastefully in the frames of Forevapix. Celebrated over two Saturdays, this event photographically commenced at the temple. Incense, flowers & delightful smiles filled the air of those who attended the ceremony- especially the proud parents & her sisters, marking a very important day in Diya’s life. The colourful, traditional attire worn by the birthday girl & the guests alike, added to hues of all sorts to an already beautiful evening, moments of which were tastefully captured through the lens of Forevapix.​

As the priest chanted the prayers & prayed for prosperity & good health for Diya & her loved ones, Forevapix was able to photographically capture the intimate religion rituals, the exchange of blessings, the wisdom of elders & the richness of cultural traditions that have wafted to the shores of New Zealand.

Photographing these intimate moments was a delight indeed – it reminded me of several things. First & foremost, home, our families & friends, India, I miss it. The colour, the chaos & the captivating day-to-day life that is this amazing country. It is indeed an amazing opportunity for anyone part of the country or simply travelling to India to capture these scenes on camera. Well, I drifted off there for a bit, but you get my point India & a rich & varied heritage plus a camera equals unforgettable memories, just like what Forevapix promises to bring to each & every event of yours.
A culinary Indian feast followed. Just as the people, clothes & culture, you can’t escape the how each food item served reflected the same colourful masterpieces (each with their story to tell ofcourse!), but on a platter. How can I put it in words – each dish was a visual, delectable edible stunner of heritage & a burst of flavours.

Diya’s eighteen beautiful years (and many, many, many more to go ofcourse!) wasn’t your ordinary birthday celebration. It was a celebration where traditions, milestones & of course merriment blended together to create this delightul visual treat that Forevapix was able to be a part of & capture so beautifully.
