Geneva Healthcare based in Auckland provides essential Homecare Support & Rehabilitation services centered around helping the disabled & elderly. Their services range from providing physiotherapy, wellness, rehabilitation, childcare & youth support, elder care services & myriad of other key services within the healthcare spectrum, addressing the needs of the most vulnerable in turn. Through the unique lens of Forevapix’s photography, I was able to capture this heartwarming event showcasing the festivities apart from how Geneva was working to create an inclusive environment for every one of its clients!

To celebrate the grit, resilience & determination of their most beautiful faces Geneva Healthcare hosted a mid-year mixer for the clients & the staff to unwind & have a ball – a visual treat to behold. Forevapix with its keen eye for capturing those priceless moments was able to snap how beautifully the hall was decorated, the smiles & laughter that wafted through its walls of both clients & caregivers alike. It was truly priceless for me being able to capture these forever moments as I’d like to call them of some of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever seen on camera, appreciating life in its most beautiful aspects.

One could see & feel firsthand the efforts that Geneva Healthcare & its staff made to make the event look so special. The atmosphere was precisely curated by the team to reflect the safe spaces it had created for clients of all abilities while at the same time fostering diversity, essential for these determined individuals to thrive despite all odds. All this was evident in every frame that Forevapix was able to capture.

Who doesn’t love fun & games? Says no-one ever! And did I mention a circus? Well, if I haven’t mentioned one then here it is now. Forevapix’s lens then zoomed to Circability. A social circus enterprise it combines the genius of a circus with the social and emotional benefits of community engagement, enabling nurturing of important skills such as self-confidence, communication, teamwork & perseverance in the lives of the whanau they interact with. The proud recipients of these benefits were captured by Forevapix lens as the clients delighted in the enthralling tricks put forth by Circability. The circus-inspired activities with the fun, frolic & festive colours as seen through the lens of Forevapix, simply put, shows us that everyone at whatever ability level can (and deserves) be the brightest star.

Forevapix then proceeded to capture the delightful petting zoo by Pet Vibes that came in next. With a furry cute ‘Lamb’orghini who stole the limelight with its big glasses (bigger diaper) with its antics and ooooh so fuzzy wool (it was soft to touch, ehehe – let me be honest, as much as it was fun clicking the pictures I enjoyed the petting zoo too, I mean who doesn’t love cute, cuddly animals). Little birds clucked around, flapping their brightly coloured wings as they chirped happily whilst at the same time bringing happiness to the clients of Geneva Healthcare. A shout-out to them too!

There was a small auction to support the budding clients of Geneva Healthcare & to raise awareness about how positivity & the right support can make a WORLD of difference not only for those directly involved but the whole ecosystem they are a part of.

The true success of the mid-year mixer, the real winners of the events were Geneva Healthcare’s clients. Forevapix skillfully captured their pure smiles as they stole the show by providing them with a platform to enjoy themselves without any barriers & to effectively prove that nothing can stop them from achieving their dreams or from being heard, valued & appreciated.

Additionally, this activity united both parents & caregivers alike who shared stories of triumphs in the lives of the clients they cared for, creating a supportive network & a sense of belongingness in each other’s struggles.

This simple act of bringing everyone together shows not just how Geneva Healthcare can serve to be a driving force for the clients it serves but how interventions such as the mid-year mixer can serve as a beacon of hope for everyone. Yes, giving them a chance to experience first-hand key things that every one of us deserves to have – access to unlimited joy, growth & of feeling loved. A visually delightful story such as this serves as a testament to show that nothing is impossible in this lifetime with just the right bit of encouragement.
